Dear Friend:
It’s Giving Tuesday—the day when generosity shows up big and bold. For a small charity like ours, this isn’t just another square on the calendar. This day fuels a huge portion of the meals, comfort, and stability we provide all year long. Please read this email in its entirety so you don’t miss the video at the end.
Every week, Sparrow’s Nest delivers homemade meals, fresh produce, desserts, and a whole lot of love to neighbors who are in treatment for cancer. For many of them, these meals become the one steady thing in a week that feels anything but steady. A night where dinner is handled. A moment of normal. A little comfort when everything else feels hard. Because of this community, we have already delivered more than 1 million servings of food. Today, we begin the climb toward the next million.
Thanks to some incredibly generous local businesses and neighbors, gifts today are matched. That means your kindness goes twice as far for families in treatment right here in the Hudson Valley.
All day long, we are having some fun giveaways to keep the energy going. A few of the contests happening today:
Early Bird: First donation of the day wins a $50 Stop & Shop gift card
Like & Share contests: Sparrow’s Nest Apple Crumb Pies for folks who help spread the word
Hourly giving contests: Harney & Sons tea set, a Kohl’s gift card, wine basket, local shop baskets, and more
First-time donor giveaway: New donors are entered to win a Sparrow’s Nest swag bag
Sparrow’s Circle contest: Sign up as a monthly donor and you could win a $100 DC Indoor Golf gift card
Every contest ties back to the same thing: making sure we can keep saying ‘yes’ when neighbors need us.
If you are able to give today, we would be so grateful. If you cannot, sharing our posts, cheering us on, and keeping our recipients in your thoughts still means the world.
This year’s Giving Tuesday video shares the heart of this day better than I ever could in writing.
Thank you for helping us make the next million servings of food for families facing cancer. My heart is already full.
With Gratitude,
Krista
