The June 2025 Edition of “The Chirp”, the official Sparrow’s Nest newsletter features a heartfelt message from founder and Executive Director, Krista Jones, about the recurring donation program, Sparrow’s Circle.
Sparrow Circle
Every week, we knock on more than 130 doors of people facing some of the hardest days of their lives. Cancer doesn’t just bring doctor’s appointments and treatments—it brings fear, exhaustion, and, far too often, an empty dinner table.
But then you show up.
This month, we celebrate our monthly donation program, Sparrow Circle. This program is truly special to us because recurring donations are the heartbeat of our mission. They allow us to plan ahead, to say “yes” without hesitation, to ensure that no one who qualifies goes without our homemade meals.
We’re inviting you to become a member. Whether it’s $25 or $100, your monthly gift becomes a thread in the safety net we wrap around every family and individual we serve.
As a member, you’ll get early access to our events, exclusive updates, and the joy of knowing you’re making a difference—not just once, but every single month.
When you become a Sparrow Circle Member, you give more than meals. You give consistency. You give dignity. You give a mother one less thing to worry about. You let a caregiver exhale. You remind a child that someone, somewhere, is thinking of them.
You’re not just feeding people, you’re feeding hope.

Superhero Rock ‘N’ Run 660 of you. In a monsoon. You showed up in capes, ponchos, and superhero-sized determination—and we are still in awe.
This year’s Superhero Rock & Run at Barton Orchards was nothing short of legendary. Despite the sideways rain and soggy socks, you came ready to rock, ready to run, and most importantly, ready to make a difference.
Thanks to your strength, spirit, and awesomeness (amidst my mini breakdown) you raised $150,000 with more than 75 percent of you showing up in person! That’s enough to care for all 500 people we feed every week for over a month. That’s real impact. That’s what being a hero looks like.
Rain or shine, you reminded us that love always shows up.
From the bottom of my soggy sneakers—thank you.
With so much gratitude (and a few lingering blisters),
Krista
