The March 2025 Edition of “The Chirp”, the official Sparrow’s Nest newsletter, features information about the upcoming Superhero Rock ‘N’ Run.

By popular demand, we’re extending our Early Bird Special until Sunday night! The response from our local superheroes has been off the charts, and who are we to stand in the way of superpower greatness? Don’t miss your chance to join the epic Superhero Rock and Run Challenge & 5K at a heroic discount. Suit up and sign up before time runs out!

By participating, you’re not just challenging yourself but also supporting our mission to provide homemade meals to individuals and families facing a cancer diagnosis. It’s a win-win: get active, have fun, and make a difference.

Our event runs from April 1 to May 31 (The Challenge) finishing with an in-person 5K and Rock Fest on May 31 at Barton Orchards in Poughquag, NY.

There are multiple ways to participate:

• Titans 30-Mile Challenge: Tailored for our youngest heroes aged 12 and under, this challenge encourages them to walk, run, hike, or bike 30 miles over two months.

• The Incredibles 60-Mile Challenge: Aimed at those seeking a moderate challenge, participants commit to 60 miles.

• The Avenger 160-Mile Challenge: For the more ambitious, this challenge involves covering 160 miles.

• The Superman 270-Mile Challenge: Designed for the truly dedicated, this challenge entails completing 270 miles.

• The 5K ONLY:  Not ready to commit to a challenge? No problem! 

  
  

  You can join us on May 31st and just do the 5K! Enjoy a beautiful walk/run at Barton Orchards, then celebrate at the Superhero Rock Fest afterward.

*Children 5 and Under are FREE!

Prefer to skip the run entirely? We’ve got you covered — Rock Fest-only tickets are also available for just $20!  Come for the live music, great food, and drinks. Rock out to incredible bands like Syncing Lulu, Skin-n-Bones, Charlene & The Atomic Cowboys, Natasha B Band, Jennie Angel & The Outlaws, and Jungle Love. Whether you’re running, walking, or just soaking in the music, there’s a place for you at this epic event!

Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving

Please save the date! Wednesday March 26th is Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving. EVERY DOLLAR MADE at the FISHKILL LOCATION, WAPPINGERS FALLS LOCATION, and POUGHKEEPSIE LOCATION (located near Smoothie King and Buff City Soap) will be donated to Sparrow’s Nest! Cater meals to the office, bring home subs for the family, or grab yourself some lunch from one of those three locations on March 26. No matter who you’re feeding, you’re helping Sparrow’s Nest put meals on the tables of families and individuals facing a cancer diagnosis. (For large catering orders please call your store in advance to order and pay day of)
