The October 2025 Edition of “The Chirp”, the official Sparrow’s Nest Newsletter features a heartfelt message from founder and Executive Director, Krista Jones.

A Note from the Founder
Dear Friends,
I am still feeling the gratitude from our 2025 Farm to Table Gala. Thanks to your generosity, whether you joined us in person, participated in our silent auction, or supported our Nurture the Nest campaign from home, we raised more than $290,000 before expenses—all to feed and support families facing a cancer diagnosis.
You lifted paddles, bid on auctions, and sent love in every form. You reminded our recipients that even in the hardest moments, they are not alone.
Every meal we deliver, every family we nurture, and every moment of hope we create is powered by people like you. Your support transforms hardship into comfort, and your generosity turns love into action.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing up, showing off, and proving once again that Sparrow’s Nest is so much more than a mission—it’s a family.

Nest Fest is Back and Bigger than EVER!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 25th — Sparrow’s Nest is hosting our 2nd Annual NEST FEST, and you won’t want to miss it!
Last year’s event was an incredible success, and this year we’re going even bigger. From 11 AM to 10 PM, over a dozen talented tattoo artists will be offering custom designs priced between $100–$200, with 100% of proceeds supporting our mission to feed families in the Hudson Valley facing a cancer diagnosis.
But that’s just the beginning…
It’s a Halloween party — costumes encouraged!
Expect contests, delicious food, great music, photo booths, and plenty of fun.
Grab your friends, dress up, and come celebrate with us while helping us feed people facing a cancer diagnosis!
Let’s make this year unforgettable.

It’s that time of year again! Our famous Apple Pie Fundraiser is back—and it’s tastier than ever. Made with crisp apples generously donated by Minard Farms Beverage Company and in loving memory of Peter Brent from Brent Financial Group, these pies are the perfect way to celebrate the season and support families facing a cancer diagnosis.
Here’s what’s cooking this year:
· Online pie shop opens October 17th – reserve your Apple Crumb pies before they sell out!
· Limited edition Blueberry pies—sweet, juicy, and oh-so-delicious. We are giving another fruit a try!
· Sign-ups to help peel apples at our new home will be available in early November.
· Large orders: Want 50 pies or more? Contact info@sparrowsnestcharity.org for a form. Large orders must be picked up on Sunday, November 23rd or Monday, November 24th.
· Adopt a Pie: Give the gift of sweetness! Purchase a pie for one of our 150 recipient families as part of our Adopt a Pie fundraiser, and make someone’s holiday season extra special.
· New for 2025: 3 shifts reserved for organized groups (up to 20 people) for a $1,000 donation—a fun, hands-on way for your business or organization to give back.
Every pie tells a story—of community, generosity, and comfort. Whether you’re biting into a crumbly apple slice yourself or sharing it with someone in need, you’re helping us bring warmth, joy, and delicious moments to families who need it most.
Don’t wait—these pies go fast, and every purchase makes a difference.
